From a smooth arrival to easy, well-organized days, my job is to keep your trip stress-free: anticipating problems before they happen and solving anything that comes up, quietly and quickly. Airport pickup
Private car from Ngurah Rai International Airport directly to the villa. Your driver meets you at arrivals with a name sign. Cold water and towels in the car. Works for any flight time, including red-eyes.
Wellness drinks
Daily jamu or fresh coconut water. Traditional Balinese wellness drinks prepared fresh and waiting for you each morning.
Ice bath and sauna access
On-site ice bath and sauna available throughout your stay. Use them after a surf session, a morning workout, or whenever you want to reset.
Housekeeping + pool maintenance
The villa is serviced every day. Fresh towels and linens included. The pool is cleaned and checked daily. You do nothing.
Welcome basket
Fresh fruit, Bali coffee, cold drinks and local snacks waiting when you arrive. A proper welcome, not a minibar.
Grocery pre-stocking

Airport Pickup (Arrival)
Private car from Ngurah Rai, not a shared shuttle. Driver meets you at arrivals with a name sign. Cold water and towels in the car. 45-minute drive direct to the villa. Works for any flight time, including red-eyes.
Airport Transfer (Departure)
Private car from villa to airport. Tell us your flight time and we sort the timing. No early-morning stress.
Scooter Rental
Honda Scoopy or Vario (automatic, 110-125cc). Delivered to the villa, picked up when you leave. Helmet included for each rider. International driving permit recommended. Need a second scooter? We can arrange that too.
Car + Driver (Full Day)
Private car for 8-10 hours. Your itinerary, your pace. Driver knows the back roads and can suggest stops you will not find on a list. Snacks and water in the car. Change plans on the day, no problem.
Wellness
In-Villa Massage
60-minute session. Balinese traditional, deep tissue, or aromatherapy. A professional therapist comes to the villa with treatment table, oils, and towels. Book morning or evening sessions. Couples sessions available with two therapists at once.
Private Yoga
60-90 minute session, morning or evening. On the pool deck with the rice fields behind you. Hatha, vinyasa, or yin, matched to your level. Mats and props provided. Can accommodate the full group, up to 6.
Spa Treatments
Facials, body scrubs, mani-pedi. All done at the villa by trained therapists. Mix and match for a full spa day without leaving.

Private Chef
Multi-course dinner prepared in your kitchen. The chef handles shopping, prep, cooking, and cleanup. Balinese, Western, Asian fusion, or seafood BBQ menus. Dietary requirements fully accommodated: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal. Menu shared in advance for your approval. Minimum 2 guests.
BBQ Setup
Seafood, meats, sides: all sourced, prepped, and ready for the grill. Pool deck setup included. Bring the drinks.

Tours + Day Trips
Full day with private car and driver (8-10 hours). Popular routes: Tanah Lot sunset, Ubud (rice terraces, monkey forest, art market), Uluwatu (temple, Kecak fire dance), Nusa Penida island day trip. Snacks and water in the car. Flexible itinerary. Driver knows the back roads and quiet spots.
Surf Lessons
2-hour session at Berawa (beginners) or Echo Beach (intermediate and above). Board and rash vest included. 1:1 or small group, max 4. Instructor meets you at the beach or pickup from the villa is available. Photos of your session if you want them.
ATV, Rafting + Diving
Adventure activities across the island. White-water rafting on the Ayung River, ATV trails in Ubud, diving and snorkelling off Nusa Penida or the Gilis.
Yacht + Boat Charters

Things to do in Canggu
Canggu has changed fast. It is still Bali, but with better coffee. Here is what to know before you arrive.
Surfing
Canggu is Bali's surf capital, and it earns the title. Echo Beach handles experienced surfers: the reef break gets serious in dry season. Berawa is more forgiving and ideal for beginners, with consistent waves and plenty of instructors. Board rental and lessons are both easy to arrange, and our concierge can sort everything, including transport to the beach and equipment.
The surf culture here runs deep. At 6am, the water is full. By 9am, the warungs are packed with people drying off over Nasi Goreng and cold Bintangs.
Eating and Drinking
Canggu's food scene is legitimately excellent. At the bottom end, you will eat the best Nasi Campur of your life for under $2 at a roadside warung. At the top, you will find restaurants that hold their own against any major city. The brunch culture is huge: Crate Cafe for the atmosphere, Milk and Madu for the food, Hungry Bird for the best coffee. All within 10 minutes of the villa.
For sundowners, you have options. Old Man's at Batu Bolong is the Canggu institution: cold Bintang, live music, surf views. La Brisa is the spot for something slower. The Lawn does a proper sunset over the rice paddies. All are within easy scooter distance. The noise stays there; you come home to quiet.
Yoga
The yoga scene in Canggu is world-class and surprisingly affordable. The Practice Bali is the most well-known, with a stunning bamboo studio, multiple styles daily. Samadi Bali has a strong community and excellent teachers. Desa Seni doubles as a beautiful eco-resort with a full yoga programme. Weekly unlimited passes are available at most studios.
If you would rather not leave the villa, our concierge arranges private morning sessions on the pool deck. The rice field backdrop helps.
Nightlife
Canggu does not pretend to be Seminyak, and that is the point. The nightlife here is lower key and better for it. Old Man's (Batu Bolong) is the anchor: cold beer, live music, open air. Deus Ex Machina does the cafe-meets-motorbike-shop-meets-music-venue thing better than anywhere else on the island. La Laguna is fairy lights and creative cocktails in an old fishing boat graveyard. Finns Beach Club if you want something bigger.
Everything is roughly 10 minutes from the villa by scooter. The neighbourhood itself is quiet. You hear the geckos, not the music.
Day Trips from Canggu
The villa is well positioned for exploring beyond Canggu. Tanah Lot is 20 minutes away: a sea temple on a coastal rock stack, best at sunset. Ubud is 60 minutes: rice terraces, the monkey forest, the art market, and some of Bali's best restaurants. Uluwatu is 90 minutes south: dramatic clifftop temple and the Kecak fire dance at sunset. Nusa Penida is a half-day boat trip: turquoise water, Kelingking cliff, manta rays at Manta Point. Mount Batur is a 2.5-hour drive for the sunrise trek: 4am start, back by noon.

Quite a lot. Canggu has excellent surf beaches (Echo Beach for experienced surfers, Berawa for beginners), a thriving yoga and wellness scene, one of Southeast Asia's best cafe and brunch cultures, and beach clubs and bars that punch well above the town's size.
Beyond Canggu itself, the location is ideal for day trips: Tanah Lot temple is 20 minutes away, Ubud rice terraces are 60 minutes, Uluwatu's clifftop temple and fire dance are 90 minutes, and Nusa Penida is a short boat ride for world-class snorkelling and clifftop views. Yes, and it is one of the highlights of staying in a private villa. Our concierge arranges in-villa private chef dinners. Your chef shops at the local market in the morning, arrives at the villa in the afternoon, and prepares a multi-course dinner in your kitchen.
Cuisine styles available: Balinese (fresh spice pastes, satay, rice dishes), Western (steaks, pasta, seafood), or fusion. Dietary requirements are fully accommodated: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and halal menus all available. Let us know when you book. Most guests say it is the meal they remember most from the trip.
Lumina Villa includes a complimentary airport pickup on arrival. When you book, share your flight details and our driver will be at arrivals with a sign and your name. The drive to the villa takes approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic.
This is a private car, not a shared shuttle with other passengers. You go directly from the airport to the villa. No waiting, no detours. Departure airport drop-off can also be arranged. Just let us know your flight time the evening before.
Canggu is excellent for yoga. The town has developed a genuine wellness community over the past decade, with world-class studios within 15 minutes of the villa. The Practice Bali is the most well-known, with a stunning open-air bamboo studio and classes throughout the day. Samadi Bali is favoured by longer-term residents and has a strong teacher community. Desa Seni is set in a beautiful eco-resort and runs a full yoga and meditation programme.
If you would rather stay in, our concierge arranges private yoga sessions on the villa pool deck. Morning sessions with rice field views are a particular highlight.
The dry season from April to October is widely considered the best time to visit Canggu and Bali generally. Days are sunny, surf is consistent, and outdoor activities are easy to plan. July and August are peak season: lively, busy, and the most social time to be in Canggu.
That said, Bali is genuinely warm year-round, sitting between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius in most months. The wet season (November to March) brings afternoon showers, usually an hour or two of heavy rain followed by clear skies, but also fewer tourists, lower villa rates, and a more local feel. Many experienced Bali travellers actually prefer the wet season for this reason. The rice fields are also at their most vivid green. Lumina Villa's pool and outdoor spaces remain enjoyable throughout the year.
